Protesters Of Wike’s Removal Hirelings – Ex- Presidential Aide

…Asks President Tinubu not listen to them

The protesters for the removal of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesome Wike are hirelings, according to former Presidential aide, Obol Okoi Obono-Obla.

The former aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari and Chairman Special Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Properties (SPIP) in the last administration called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not listen to them.

According to him, there were no merits in their protest and demands as he reiterated his position on the Minister of the FCT that he would add value to the FCT.

Describing the protesters as people who were being paid, he said, “The so-called protest staged today against Honourable Minister to Federal Capital Territory Administration, His Excellency Nysome Wike by some misguided people who are agents of those affected by the deep-seated administrative and public policy reforms which he is carrying out to reposition and restore the badly distorted Abuja masterplan is misplaced.

“In as much as the protesters are exercising their constitutional right it beggars belief that people would embark on protest on such flimsical and frivolous grounds which is neither here nor there.

“These are enemies of progress who are readily canon fodders to be used by some disgruntled elites who for selfish reasons do not want the country to move forward.

“We affirm that we have absolute confidence in the policy agenda of Minister Wike and call on His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ignore the demand of these rabble-rousers.

“We condemn strongly such infantile display of noise and brigandage sponsored and organized by selfish elites who are affected by the reform initiated and implemented by the Minister with the support of Mr President to save Abuja from descending and deteriorating into a slum as a result of the predilection of some Nigerians that are averse to orderliness and disobeying the law.”

It would be recalled that on Wednesday, some alleged Indigenes of the FCT had stormed the National Assembly demanding Wike’s resignation or his sack.

In his address, the group’s convener Adamu Kabir Matazu described the former Rivers State governor as callous, indecorous, uncouth, greedy, and selfish.

He said, “Today, we stand united to express our concern over the direction of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) under the watch of Nyesom Wike.

“It’s abysmal and disturbing for the FCT to become an epicenter of controversy due to the misguided actions of Wike, which not only undermine President Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda but also cast a shadow on the credibility of the federal government.”
