Proscribed Vigilante Hands Over Uniforms To Police In Nasarawa

The Police Command in Nasarawa State says it has received uniforms and other materials from the proscribed Kungiya Zaman Lafia, a nomad vigilante. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa issued the executive order on April 1 The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ramhan Nansel, made this known in a statement yesterday in Lafia.

The PPRO said the vigilante complied with the Executive Order 1, 2024, on proscription of ethnic vigilance groups and similar organisations. He said the order directed all proscribed groups to hand over all uniforms and other kits in their possessions to the police within two weeks from the day the executive order was issued. The police spokesperson said the police received 267 pairs of uniforms, 102 pieces of black belts and 189 pieces of infantry lanyards from the group
