Police Summons NLC President Over Alleged Terrorism Links

The Nigeria Police Force has summoned the National President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero for questioning over allegations of terrorism financing and other serious charges.

The summons, from the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), includes accusations of criminal conspiracy, treasonable felony, subversion, and cybercrimes.

The letter, signed by Adamu S. Muazu, warns of arrest if Ajaero fails to comply with the invitation.

In response, former AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore condemned the action, accusing President Bola Tinubu’s administration of authoritarianism.

Sowore posted on X (formerly Twitter), “The Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu regime is going completely fascist, and we must all together and stop him now!”

He urged action against what he termed “heinous crimes” associated with the current government.
