Police Nab Teenager For Killing Phone Dealer In Katsina

17-year-old Abdulrahman Ibrahim was reportedly arrested by the Katsina State Police Command for allegedly stabbing and killing a phone seller in the state on Monday.

According to CSP Gambo Isah, the spokesman of the command, nemesis caught up with the suspect after he lured the phone dealer into an uncompleted building in the Modoji area of the state and stabbed him in the neck with a knife, killing him eventually.

New Telegraph gathered that Abdulrahman while speaking in an interview with newsmen said he stabbed the man to death in an attempt for “self-defence”

According to him, “I killed him when he wanted to kill me and wounded me in the hand.”

In a related development, CSP Gambo said police operatives from the command raided some criminal hideouts within the state metropolis and arrested 72 suspected social miscreants, popularly referred to as Kauraye in Hausa with a knack for phone snatching.

CSP Gambo said the areas raided include Sabuwar Unguwa, Gadar Nayalli, Modoji, Tudun YanLihida, Kwabren Dorawa, Janbango, Abbatuwa, Filin Canada, Lambun Dankwai, Kofar Marusa, Tsalawa, and Chake among others.

The Command, however, expressed its appreciation to members of the general public for their unflinching support to the Police and other sister security agencies in the state, urging them to always report any suspicious person or group to the police through the following emergency lines: 08156977777, 09053872247.
