
The Enugu State Police Command has detained six armed robbery suspects and recovered firearms and other exhibits in Nsukka.
This is contained in a statement by the Command’s Spokesman, SP Daniel Ndukwe, yesterday in Enugu. Ndukwe said that the police operatives attached to the Nsukka Area Command in synergy with Neighbourhood Watch Group, had initially detained a suspect for robbery that led to the arrest of three others.
“During the operations, police recovered three local – ly-made pistols, including a revolver, two live cartridges, and three motorcycles allegedly snatched from victims.
“Substances suspected to be Indian hemp, and plasticpiped bottles used for consuming methamphetamine, locally known as ‘Mkpuru Mmiri’ were also recovered.
“Following their confessions, one of the suspects led police operatives to ObolloAfor, Udenu Local Government Area (LGA), where individuals suspected of receiving stolen motorcycles were apprehended on Feb. 6, 2025.”
