Police Arrest Six ‘One Chance’s Suspects In Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested at least six people in connection with an alleged one-chance robbery in Abuja.

SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed this in a statement issued on Saturday.

According to her, the operation was carried out on June 16, 2024 by command personnel assigned to the Utako divisional headquarters.

The suspects are Abubakar Adams, Ibrahim Kasa, Sani Usman, Ismail Salisu, Yusuf Bello and Nasiru Saidi.

The police stated that the suspects are specialized in attacking innocent residents of the city inside vehicles or tricycles, “robbing them of their valuables and pushing them off the moving vehicle or tricycle”.

Josephine described that the “suspects were apprehended on the heels of complaints received from multiple victims of these atrocious acts”.

She stated that several of the victims reported losing their cell phones, money, gadgets, and other items to “these criminals who have since confessed to the crime.”

“Light weapons such as cutlasses, knives, and a phone believed to have been stolen from a victim were recovered from them”, she stated.
