Police Arraign Man For Tampering With Corpse In Ibadan

The operatives of the Oyo State Police Command have charged one Sulaiman Ikudaisi, 37, to court for allegedly tampering with a corpse.

Ikudaisi, whose address was not made known, is accused of tampering with a corpse to which he pleaded not guilty before an Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court.

The prosecution, Insp. Toyin Ibrahim had earlier informed the court that the defendant committed the act on May 11 at 3 p.m. at Muslim Cemetery in Ibadan.

Ibrahim claimed that the defendant removed several bones from the deceased in violation of Section 242(1)(b) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs Kausarat Ayofe, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in the same amount.

She, however, adjourned the case till July 16 for mention.
