Police Apprehend Man For Car Theft In Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command have arrested a 27-year-old man, Meshark Monday, who allegedly specializes in car theft.

Monday was nabbed by Crack Operatives of the Olu Obasanjo Division on the Olu Obasanjo Road after the police spotted some suspicious movements as he attempted to flee at the G.R.A intersection.

SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the Command Public Relations Officer, said in a statement on Sunday that the suspect was caught following a high-speed chase.

SP Iringe-Koko stated that during interrogation, on Monday, a security officer at a Mobile Company, confessed to his crime, indicating that he succumbed to temptation and took a customer’s vehicle parked for maintenance in order to enhance his life.

The police statement mentioned that, while the case had been charged, an investigation was still underway to apprehend Monday’s accomplices.

According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, asked citizens to install security cameras and alarms to prevent such incidents outside of business hours
