Plateau North Senator Launches Empowerment For Over 160 Constituents

Senator representing Plateau North in the National Assembly, Sen. Pam Dachungyang has launched an empowerment programme for over 160 of his constituents across six Local Government Areas, focusing on poultry farming and plantain chips processing.

Senator Dachungyang while speaking at the training programme on Saturday in Jos held at Zang Commercial school, Bukuru said the aimed is to equip women and youths with knowledge, skills, and resources to achieve success and be self-reliance.

According to him, the empowerment is to provide a viable source of income with relatively low start-up costs, promote economic independence, and harness the strength of youths and the resilient spirit of Plateau women.

He said doing so, hopes to grow self-reliant businesses and Contribute to the betterment of families, communities, and Plateau North as a whole.

Senator Dachungyang expressed his commitment to securing what is due to his people, ensuring they benefit from his efforts.

He noted that despite initial delays due to court cases, he remains undeterred, emphasizing that “time is of the essence” and that he will deliver what is rightfully owed to his constituents.

He disclosed that empowerment program’s selection process prioritized individuals from less privileged backgrounds, covering all local governments ward by ward.

Dachungyang ensured that materials provided surpass the number of participants, enabling them to effectively utilize the resources.

The lawmaker, however, emphasized the importance of supporting the government, despite being in the opposition party. Saying working together, he believes they can achieve greater benefits for their constituencies.
