The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday rejected the outcome of Saturday’s Anambra State local government election.
The ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) won all the 21 chairmanship seats as well as all the councillorship positions. PDP Chairman Chigozie Igwe told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the election was a charade.
He said the PDP did not boycott the election like other parties did, adding that it, therefore was in good stead to deplore its outcome. The chairman said the party was still studying the details of the exercise, saying they would seek legal redress.
Igwe said: “They gave us one month to prepare for the election, within the period we sold forms, screened nominees, conducted the primary, campaign and met all the conditions.”
