A pro-People’s Democratic Party (PDP) group under the aegis of PDP Frontiers for Change and Progress has alleged that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, is behind the media campaign launched against the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT), Senator Adolphus Wabara.
The group who spoke with journalists on Friday in Umuahia, Abia State, also alleged that the FCT Minister was behind the political crisis occurring in Rivers State.
Speaking on the lingering crisis in the party, the National Coordinator of the group, Emeka “Yellow” Ikpegbu, decried Wike’s reaction concerning the recent visit of PDP BoT members to Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
According to him, no amount of media campaign targeted against Wabara and other PDP BoT members over their visit to the Governor would succeed.
The group, however, backed the recent call by Niger Delta leader and elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, for Wike to be expelled from the PDP.

Ikpegbu who said that Wike was shocked by the visit of the BoT members and their assurances to the Governor, noted that the solidarity visit was part of efforts to rebuild the PDP in Rivers State and other parts of the nation.
“The visit enjoys the full support of PDP progressives across the geopolitical zones. Wike thinks he can still control the state after being in power for eight years.
He urged other stakeholders, especially PDP Governors, to unite behind the BoT members in their genuine efforts to reposition the party for a “landslide victory in 2027.”
According to the group, the FCT Minister failed in his plans to make Governor Siminalayi Fubara a stooge.
Ikpegbu therefore urged leaders and stakeholders of the PDP to rise against godfatherism and enthrone internal democracy, noting that godfatherism has been a major factor threatening the umbrella party.
