PDP Govs Urge Security Agencies To Take Note Of Wike’s Threats

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum has denounced the “threats” made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to cause political crises in states whose governors interfere in the Rivers State political crisis.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Director-General of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Emmanuel Agbo, said nobody is above the law and urged security agencies to take note of Wike’s utterances, which he described as “unbridled, irresponsible, and totally unacceptable”.

The Forum expressed disappointment that Wike, a former governor and once a member of the Forum, would make such threats, which undermine efforts to build and maintain peace, cohesion, and collaboration among leaders and members of the party.

The Forum reaffirmed its commitment to working with the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to ensure that Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State is conferred with all the privileges he is entitled to as a Governor elected on the platform of the party.

This was as they called on the NWC to invoke both official provisions and unofficial good office platforms to find an amicable solution to the crisis in the Rivers State chapter of the party.

The statement emphasized that the recent actions of the governors, including their support for Governor Fubara, reflect their dedication to the values of the party, and it is crucial for all party members, including Wike, to work together towards common goals rather than pursuing personal vendettas.
