Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti on Thursday replaced Dr Ngozi Okoronkwo, his Health Commissioner and Mr Chima Oriaku, his Commissioner for Science and Technology who recently resigned.
New Telegraph reports that no new name was released to replace Prof. Monica Ironkwe, a resigned Commissioner for Agriculture.
Mr David Kalu was appointed as the new Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation, while Prof. Enoch Ogbonnaya Uche was appointed as the new Commissioner for Health.
In a different reshufflement, Otti went further to appoint Mr Goodluck Ubochi as Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education while Prof. Uche Eme Uche, a former Commissioner for Education, was appointed as the new Commissioner for Tertiary Education.
Mrs Blessing Ngozi Felix, a former Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation was appointed as the new Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection while Dr Mrs Maureen Ijeoma Aghukwa was appointed as the Commissioner for Women Affairs.
A former Commissioner for Finance, Mr Mike Akpara was appointed as the new Commissioner for Industry and SMEs while Mr Uwaoma Ukandu was appointed as his replacement as the new Commissioner for Finance.
Comrade Sunny Onwuma, a former Commissioner for Transport was appointed as the Commissioner for Labour & Productivity. Dr Chimezie Ukaegbu was removed from the Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Industry to the Ministry of Transport, as the new Commissioner there, while Mr Kingsley Chibueze Nwokocha was appointed as the new Commissioner for Trade and Commerce.
Mr Ikechukwu Uwanna retained his position as the Attorney General & Commissioner For Justice, Prince Uzo Nwachukwu remains the Commissioner of Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs and Mr Kingsley Anosike remains the Commissioner for Budget and Planning,
Mr Philemon Ogbonna retained his position as the Commissioner for Environment, Prof. Joel Ogbonna also remains the Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, while Mr Okey Kanu retained his position as the Information Commissioner.
Others who retained their positions include Mr Nwaobilor Ananaba, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr Mathew Ekwuruibe, Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Mr Chaka Chukwumerije, Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Engr. Don Oti, Commissioner for Works and Engr. Ikechukwu Monday, Commissioner for Power and Public Utilities.
