Osimhen’s Future In Limbo As Chelsea, PSG Back Out Of The Deal

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, is at crossroads regarding his future as there is no serious bid on the table to price him away from his Serie A side this summer.

Osimhen is desperate to leave Italy this summer and despite being linked with many big sides in Europe he could stay at the club due to the 130 million euro price tag placed on him by Napoli. Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG are some of the clubs that have been linked with the striker but according to Calcio Mercato, none of these outfits have put serious proposals on the table for the Super Eagles star.

The forward signed a contract extension with Napoli last term with a buyout clause of 130 million euros which has now become problematic to his ambition of playing elsewhere. With 76 goals and 18 assists in 133 games for Gli Azzurri over the period of four years during which he led the club to Scudetto, Osimhen is considered an elite striker. Arsenal are said to view Osimhen as the perfect figure for the ongoing project but still think splashing a whopping 13 million on him is not justifiable and are considering a low-cost move for RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško.

Chelsea are ready to do business but an offer that includes two players and cash is not being entertained by Napoli and the Blues have now reportedly backed out. Meanwhile, PSG are said to have readjusted their focus with the French champions thinking about going for Osimhen’s teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia whom they view as the p e r f e c t replacement for depart – ing Kylian Mbappe.
