Super Eagles star, Victor Osimhen, has arrived in Nigeria ahead of the crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
The 25-year-old forward touched down in the early hours of yesterday morning, ready to join the national team in Uyo.
Osimhen’s arrival follows the completion of his loan move from Napoli to Turkish champions Galatasaray, ending a long and dramatic summer transfer saga.
The Nigerian striker had been linked with several top European clubs, including Paris SaintGermain (PSG), Chelsea, and Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli.
However, Napoli remained unsatisfied with the offers on the table, leading to Osimhen’s eventual move to Galatasaray after the main European transfer window had closed.
Despite being close to a move to Chelsea, Osimhen reportedly rejected the wages offered by the Premier League side, resulting in a failed deal.
