Napoli on Wednesday confirmed the return of its striker Victor Osimhen to training after suffering serious facial injury in a league game.
The Italian club made the confirmation via one of its social media handles on Wednesday, showing the Super Eagles striker doing light jogging at the Napoli training ground.
The short video showed a fit Osimhen expressing determination to return to competitive football sooner than expected.
Osimhen suffered a fractured eye socket and cheekbone after a head collision with Inter Milan’s Skriniar during a Serie A clash which ended in favour of the Italian champions.
He had to be substituted and rushed to the hospital for proper examination before being operated upon.
Following the surgery, Napoli had announced that the striker would be out of action for three months.
But the Super Eagles striker is back to training and could be in action later in the year for his club.
This development could be good news for Nigeria, if the striker can return to his team line-up before the Africa Cup of Nations holding next month in Cameroon.
It could be recalled that Osimhen was earlier ruled out of the continental football tournament in Cameroon next year.
