Ondo Poll: PDP Urges Ajayi To Reach Out To Co-Contestants, Unite Members

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has tasked its candidate for the November 16 Ondo State governorship election, Agboola Ajayi, to reach out his co-contestants during the primary and unite the party ahead of the election.

Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum who spoke on Tuesday while presenting certificate of return to the candidate, advised him not to take for granted that most of the other aspirants have conceded to him.

“You need to do more to bring them on board so that you can complete this exercise,” Damagum stated, adding that to complete the exercise is to win the state for PDP.

“It is not going to be an easy task; you have to start going from door to door. Reaching out to them, persuading them, you must work hard to make sure PDP takes Ondo State,” he said.

The acting National Chairman disclosed that PDP will hold South West stakeholders’ meeting on Monday next week, stating that the party has activated its internal working mechanism.

The PDP candidate for the election Ajayi, expressed gratitude to the party and the delegates for the confidence reposed in him.

“It is truly humbling, and I accept this responsibility and promise to carry out work towards winning the upcoming election with utmost dedication as we all embark on a new journey in service to our beloved Ondo State and our party the PDP,” he promised.

Ajayi described the forthcoming election as a defining moment, noting that it is about time for the people of Ondo State to come together to chart a new course for the state.

“It is about embracing our collective vision and aspirations for a better, more prosperous future; it therefore cannot be about me alone,” he added.

According to him, the November 16 governorship election presents a unique opportunity to bring about real and sustainable development for the people of Ondo State.
