Omah Lay Breaks Silence, Says I Don’t Feel Loved

Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Omah Lay has opened up on his major challenges in the music industry.

According to him, he doesn’t feel loved especially by the media and the music industry gatekeepers.

Speaking in a recent interview with Amazon Music, Omah Lay explained that to escape from what he described as a ‘sad reality’, he lives in a fantasy world most of the time.

He said: “I have my fans, family and team but I don’t feel loved especially by the media and the people that call themselves the gatekeepers.”

“This is something I’ve never talked about. I’m that artist that lives in a fantasy world. I just live in my head 90 per cent of the time.”

Omah Lay also said being a Nigerian and travelling with a Nigerian passport is challenging.

“Travelling especially being a Nigerian and having the Nigerian passport, I have just seen the cruelty of the world so much.

“The immigration officers often maltreated me once they see the Nigerian passport until they realise that I’m Omah Lay that’s when the treatment changes.”
