The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman Ola Olukoyede yesterday ordered the arrest of two officials involved in the alleged assault of a female employee of Regional Hotel, Ojo, Lagos.
In a video trending online, the EFCC officials dressed in mufti were seen breaking into one of the rooms of the hotel.
A lady said to be a worker at the hotel was seen trying to open the door from inside but the officers forced their way in, with one of them slapping her before ordering her out of the room.
It was gathered that the incident was captured on CCTV. In a statement, spokesman for the EFCC Dele Oyewale said the incident occurred during an early morning sting operation that led to the arrest of several suspects who are still being profiled.
The agency said: The officers were sighted in a viral video assaulting the staff of the hotel in an early morning sting operation in Lagos.
The operation yielded a sizable number of suspects who are still being profiled.
“The EFCC’s boss has also ordered detailed investigations of the operation carried out at the hotel and assured that appropriate disciplinary measures would be taken against any of the officers found to be culpable.
