Following the comment made by the Minister of Power, Dave Umahi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has debunked the accusations that he was trying to incite the Igbo people against President Bola Tinubu-led government, saying the allegations are unfounded and intended to tarnish his character.
New Telegraph had earlier reported that the Minister during a compensation event for those impacted by the Lagos-Calabar coastal road project alleged that Obi is instigating the South East geopolitical zone against the sitting President.
Speaking on the allegation on Wednesday night, the former governor of Anambra State emphasized that Umahi’s claims of incitement are without merit and serve as mere distractions.
He reiterated his commitment to promoting unity and progress, rejecting participation in divisive political manoeuvres as he expressed his dedication to the prudent use of national resources.
Obi refuted Umahi’s assertions during a compensation event for those impacted by the Lagos-Calabar coastal road project.

Contrary to Umahi’s remarks accusing Obi of fermenting dissent among the Igbo population, Obi maintained his focus on constructive dialogue and inclusivity in his communications.
Addressing the issue on his social media platform, Obi underscored his unwavering dedication to ethical leadership and encouraged Nigerians to unite for a brighter tomorrow, emphasizing that his political endeavours are not rooted in ethnic biases.
In contrast to engaging in divisive political narratives, Obi stated that his primary goal is to advocate for the holistic development of all Nigerians and ensure that governmental policies prioritize the welfare of the populace.
