The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) board has addressed the controversy surrounding Beyond Limits Football Academy’s promotion to the top flight, stating that no financial transaction was involved in the decision to award the slot to Heartland FC instead.
Beyond Limits Football Academy won the NNL in June, but the NPFL cited concerns about potential conflicts of interest with Remo Stars, leading to the decision.
The NPFL emphasized that slot buying is strictly prohibited under their rules and that the board exercised its discretion to ensure a fair and competitive league.

Beyond Limits Football Academy accepted the decision, expressing regret but committing to continued development and growth. They will participate in the Nigeria National League for the 2024/25 season.
Heartland FC, meanwhile, is preparing for the new season with pre-season games, starting with a home match against Enyimba.
The NPFL’s statement aims to dispel rumors of financial impropriety and reassure stakeholders of their commitment to upholding a fair and competitive league.
