The troops of the Joint Task Force Northwest (OPHD) on Friday said they have successfully eliminated notorious bandit leader, Kachallah Buzu, along with several of his fighters in Zamfara State.
According to the troops, the operation occurred on Thursday night, September 12, in Mayanchi village, where the military had set an ambush based on intelligence regarding of the terrorists’ movements.
In addition to Buzu’s demise, the security forces also captured 30 motorcycles and a substantial stockpile of arms from the bandits.

This significant blow to the banditry group is a testament to the military’s efforts to combat terrorism in the region.
However, in a separate incident, bandits operating in Zamfara State have killed three soldiers of the Nigerian Army and four personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.
The security personnel were part of a joint team deployed to prevent a planned attack on a construction company working along the highway.
Unfortunately, the bandits laid an ambush and opened fire on the security forces, resulting in the tragic loss of seven lives.
Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Dalijan, confirmed the incident and acknowledged the sacrifices made by the security personnel.
The ongoing conflict between security forces and bandits in Zamfara State highlights the complexities of the region’s security challenges.
