The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has strengthened its mode of operation for the citizens to uphold the national values charter as enshrined in the anthem of the country.
NOA Director-General, Mr Lanre Onilu-Isa, said with the institutionalisation of the new national identity and values by the Federal Executive Council (FEC), every ethnic nationality, tongue and language in Nigeria must uphold its avowed unity, peace and progress.
The director-general, represented by his Director of General Service, Dr Mrs Rebecca Nasimu, supported by the Director of the agency in Delta State, Mrs Tessy Ikolomi, said in Asaba that members of FEC, National Assembly and the judiciary, would embark on a two-week ‘change-begins-with-me’ retreat on the new values charter and national identity.
He said: “We are now more than ready, but not under the illusion that we can do it all without the media as our age-long public messenger vanguard of national discourse and conscience of the downtrodden.”
