Famous Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth has voiced his frustration over the state of Nigeria’s economy, declaring that the country may never get better.
Speaking in a recent interview with AFRIMMA, which has since gone viral, the comedian cited decades of rising inflation, noting the continuous depreciation of the naira as evidence to back his claims.
Reflecting on the country’s economic decline, Basketmouth said, “In 1970, it was one naira to a dollar, but now it’s N1600 to one dollar.

He also criticized government policies, suggesting that they may be designed to worsen the citizens’ plight.
The comedian referenced the recent hike in the price of passports.
Though sarcastic, Basketmouth added, “It’s not like I’ve given up hope, but let’s all believe in that pipe dream. It’s over.”
