In commemoration of the 64th Nigerian Independent celebration, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has congratulated Nigerians on the country’s independence anniversary, saying there are better expectations in future.
Governor Fintiri while sympathizing with Nigerians towards the current economic challenges facing Nigeria since its journey to nationhood, noted that despite these hurdles, Nigeria has made significant progress, particularly since its return to democracy 24 years ago.
In a press release by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Governor Fintiri emphasized the need for self-reflection and collective responsibility to address the country’s weaknesses, pointing out that success can only be achieved by accepting responsibility for actions and rejecting the victim’s mentality.
Governor Fintiri reiterated further that “some of these weaknesses are within our means to correct, but we will only succeed if we are brave and honest enough to accept responsibility for our actions and reject the convenient attitude of playing the victim and blaming others”.
While commending Adamawa citizens for reaching this milestone, surviving pitfalls, and regaining dignity through democracy, he reassured that his administration is committed to leaving no one behind and ensuring that every Adamawa citizen benefits from these efforts.
According to him, “My administration will continue to empower Adamawa citizens through human capital development and infrastructure investments, boosting the economy, and improving living conditions”, regretting, unpatriotic acts and injustice trying to undermine our progress.
Speaking on the current hardship in the land, Governor Fintiri said, “I see hope in Nigeria’s future. Let’s work together to provide good governance and democracy dividends”.
As Nigeria celebrates its 64th independence anniversary, Governor Fintiri said the new thinking of the Government serves as a reminder of the country’s potential for growth and progress. “Let us unite in supporting the government’s initiatives and work together towards a brighter future”.
The Governor commended the security agencies for their tireless efforts in maintaining peace and order in the state, explaining that his administration’s peace initiatives are aimed at promoting harmony and understanding among citizens.
