As Nigeria celebrates her 64th Independence anniversary, the Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, Senator Basheer Lado, has urged Nigerians to reflect on the sacrifices of the nation’s founding fathers.
Lado made the call in a congratulatory message to Nigerians on Tuesday, in commemoration of the country’s 64th independence anniversary, which he titled, “Happy 64th Independence celebration.”
According to him, it is a period for renewed commitment to the visions of Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Chief Anthony Enahoro, among others.
He noted that there was a daunting task on all Nigerians to bequeath a saner and more united nation to generations to come.
Hear him: “As we mark our 64th Independence Anniversary as a nation, I want to congratulate all Nigerians for the milestones achieved in spite of the challenges faced over the years.
“The occasion of this anniversary calls for reflection on the sacrifices of our founding fathers, visionary leaders, who bequeathed the independence we enjoy today.
“It is a period for renewed commitment to the visions of Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Chief Anthony Enahoro,; men who defied all odds to lay the foundation for our freedom as a country.
“There is a daunting task on us all
to bequeath a saner and more united nation to generations to come.
“The present administration under the leadership of President Bola Ahmad Tinubu, GCFR, being mindful of this, has prioritized the need to return Nigeria to the days of glory.
“The Federal Government through its Renewed Hope Agenda, has embarked on the implementation of policies to reposition the various sectors of the economy, to ensure the security of lives and property, reduced unemployment, food security among other critical issues of national importance.
“Together we can achieve the Nigeria of our dream. Happy Independence!”
