Nigeria At 64: Remain Steadfast, Unaltered Group Advises Tinubu

A group under the aegis Rising Up for a United Nigeria (RUN), has advised President Bola Tinubu to remain steadfast and unaltered in his vision for Nigeria, adding that greatness was within sight.

Addressing newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja to celebrate Nigeria’s 64th independence anniversary, convener of RUN, Solomon Adodo noted the challenges Nigerians have undergone in the last one year of the current administration, however, described Nigeria as a country with hope and great potential.

He said: “It is no strange fact that in the last one year, the nation has been plagued with diverse challenges occasioned by the withdrawal of fuel subsidy and the floating of the Naira. But I dare say that we have been through our deepest pains. It is now time for us to sit together and harness our collective gains.

“This is not a time for us to be distracted. This is not a time for us to be instigated to riotous protests. This is not a time for us to be spurred or to be triggered to pick up arms against the government.

“This is a time for us to bring forth our best ideas, to put on our thinking cap, to be at our inventive and innovative best in partnering with Mr. President to see how to move Nigeria forward. Let it be known that every nation that has made advances and gone to the front lines once passed through tethering phases of challenges like we now do. I dare say that we are no exception.

“Let us not also forget the fact that we are fortunate at this point that the executive is led by a visionary leader in the person of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we should not forget that in his time and era, he stood as one of the best governors who set the pace for the modern Lagos state that we now see.

“Our confidence in Mr. President should remain steadfast and unaltered for the destination of greatness is within sight. We should also take note of the fact that the President of the Senate – Senator Godswill Akpabio – turned the hitherto backward state of Akwa ibom into a world-class tourist destination, a flourishing economic hub and a state that can be reckoned globally anywhere as one of the best. These two now man our country. And working with them, we will transform our country Nigeria for the better.

“The current government has emplaced several strategies, several schemes and several innovative entrepreneurial schemes for the youth. We will be harnessing all of these together. Youth of our country, Nigeria, in the coming weeks and months, under the banner of the youth and the middle-aged citizens, we shall be going around the country to identify with the challenges that have plagued us.

“But beyond that, we will also be looking at our potentials, the comparative advantages of our regions, what we can do, and how we can move Nigeria forward our potential in agriculture must not be left fallow while we have vast lands and no food, our potentials in manufacturing will be properly harnessed we are very confident and Mr President has assured that he will give the youth and the middle-aged citizens the needed support to move forward.

“Young Nigerians, it is time for us to work with this government we have been through the darkest moments, our silver lining is here and it is on us to pick it up and move Nigeria forward in the coming months we want to see a new breed of entrepreneurs emerging, we want to see a new breed of captains of Industries, emerging we want to see a new breed of Patriots and patriarchs who will liberate our country on the economic front and move the nation forward. It is on all of us to actualize this.

“Nigeria is great and that greatness is in every one of u This is not a time to despair. This is not a time to be triggered into riots. This is not a time to fight against our government. This is a time for all of us to partner, work with the government, engage, and move Nigeria forward.”
