The Niger State Police Command has taken into his custody one Mohammed Isah for the alleged murder of Nurudeen Nuhu over a phone issue.
New Telegraph reports that the incident occured on Saturday, June 29 in the Abattoir area of Kwata Tayi village, on the outskirts of Minna, the state capital.
Nurudeen, from the Anguwan-Daji area, was stabbed to death by Mohammed Isah, from the Anguwan-Biri region, both of which are Minna suburbs, following a phone issue.
During the altercation, according to eyewitness accounts, Mohammed allegedly thrust a knife into his friend Nurudeen’s belly, causing him to fall.
The deceased was brought to the hospital for treatment, where he was pronounced dead. The police, through Public Relations Officer (PRO), SP Wasiu Abiodun, explained that on June 29, 2024, at approximately 10 a.m., it was reported at GRA Division that Mohammed Isah of Angwan-Biri and Nurudeen Nuhu of Angwan-Daji had a fight at the Abattoir area of Kwata Tayi village over a phone issue.
“During the fight, Mohammed Isah allegedly stabbed Nurudeen with a knife in the stomach. Police operatives attached to the Division moved to the scene and rushed the victim to the General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.”

The PRO said Mohammed Isah was arrested, and a preliminary investigation is ongoing.
“He will soon be transferred to SCID for further investigation and prosecution,” Abiodun stated.
He went on to say that police patrol teams had been stationed in the area to monitor the situation after normalcy was restored.
