The Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Access Bank, Mr. Herbert Wigwe, has said that the nomination of the Tier 1 lender institution for the “Banker of the Year (International Expansion, M&A) Award by New Telegraph’s Panel of Judges and Editors, “would galvanize Access Bank to do more for Nigeria and the African continent.”

The Access Bank MD said this while accepting the New Telegraph Publishing Company’s nomination on behalf of the bank. In a letter of nomination to Mr. Wigwe, the Managing Director/ Editor-in-Chief of New Telegraph newspaper, Mr. Ayodele Aminu, said the nomination is in recognition of the several strategic Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) deals that Access Bank has sealed in the last one year, which has enabled the financial institution to consolidate its position as one of the continent’s leading Deposit Money Banks (DMBs). Access Bank will formally receive the award in Lagos on November 19 alongside other prominent Nigerians and organizations who have distinguished themselves in public service as well as the private sector.
