NDDC Distributes Tablets To Aid Learning In Baylesa

In order to aid E-learning in Bayelsa State, the Niger Delta Development Commission has disclosed that it is going to issue about two hundred U-lesson Tablets each to the seventeen public schools captured in the first phase with a U-lesson Educational application embedded in them.

Already the commission gave out six to the representatives of the seventeen schools that were present at the launching of the application.

At the end of the first phase, about 3,400 U-lesson lesson tablets will be shared among the students in various schools in the state.

Speaking on Monday in Yenagoa during the launch of the U-lesson Educational Tablets, Samuel Ogbuku the managing director of NDDC represented by George Uzonwanne, Director of Education, Health and Social Services, NDDC stated that NDDC in the pursuit of her interventionist mandate in the region, has continued to support the NDDC mandated states in their drive to address education concerns and the interest of the people of the region.

He maintained that the launching underscores the unwavering commitment of the Niger Delta Commission under the visionary leadership of Mr President Bola Tinubu to the holistic development of the region.

He said:” The distribution of these education tools is a testament to the Hope Agenda championed by the President. We are dedicated to fostering educational initiatives that promote literacy numeracy and lifelong learning, ensuring that the Niger Delta youth can compete on an equal footing with their peers globally.”

” Today marks a significant milestone in our efforts to enhance the learning experience for our students. We are gathered here to flag off the distribution of educational tablets to our schools across the region.”

” These tablets are more than just furniture, they represent our commitment to creating a conducive learning environment that fosters academic, excellence, creativity and innovation.”

” With these U-lesson tablets, our children will have comfort and dedicated space to learn, study and grow. They will be able to engage in collaborative learning, share ideas and build meaningful relationships with their peers.”

” As we distribute this educational software, services and tablets, we are taking a significant step towards achieving the sustainable development goals, particularly goal 4 which seems to ensure inclusive and eaquita le quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.”

And to the students said the tablets will inspire them to dream big, work hard and achieve their goals adding “Remember education is the key to unlocking your potential and shaping thru the future.”

He said that to make sure that the initiative works, NDDC has employed the services of a consultant to train teachers in the use of the U-lesson tablets for effective use across the nine mandate states.

Also speaking, Sim Shagaya, the initiator of the said that the programme represents the largest investment in education technology.

He said: “It took a lot of vision and effort to get us to this place, we started U-lesson in 2018 with a very simple vision to recombine animation, curriculum, technology, and content and create something that nobody has ever seen.”

“But we discovered that it’s only the children of the wealthy ones that were buying it and why we were trying to figure out what to do in other to spread it, the NDDC came in and showed us the way forward.”

“Putting a product U-lesson in the hand of the average person cannot be over-emphasized. We need to salute the vision of Samuel Ogbuku, the Staff and management of NDDC for making the dream a reality. NDDC has paved the way in Nigeria and the wider continent.”
