NCoS Speaks On Bobrisky’s VIP Prison Status

The Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS) has disclosed that popular cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, was not kept in the general prison cell because of his unique physical features, which include feminine traits.

This revelation was made by Micheal Benson, the NCoS officer in charge of the Kirikiri Medium Security Correctional Facility, during an investigative hearing by the House of Representatives.

Benson explained that Bobrisky was moved from the Medium Security Correctional Facility to the Maximum Security Facility for his safety.

He further clarified that the decision to relocate Bobrisky was taken in his absence by a superior.

During the session, the officer elaborated on the reasons for Bobrisky’s special treatment, stating, “Bobrisky has special features like breasts. If we put him in the general cell, you would have to bring out his body from the cell. We have convicted rapists and sodomites.”

The investigation was convened following allegations that Bobrisky paid ₦15 million in bribes to officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and NCoS to secure preferential treatment during his six-month incarceration.

Bobrisky, however, did not appear before the House panel but has been ordered to do so on a date yet to be announced.
