The authorities of OkegunOdofin Junior High School, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, have taken delivery of block of classrooms and other facilities newly built and commissioned by the Nigerian Breweries Plc under the Nigerian Breweries-Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund in collaboration with “One Community at a Time” (OCAT), an initiative of Lagos State government.
The Chairman, Nigerian Breweries-Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund, Mr Hans Essaadi, who was represented by the Nigerian Breweries Plc Corporate Affairs Director, Sade Morgan, handed over the block of classrooms and other facilities to the state government.
Speaking during the handing over ceremony, Essaadi explained that the project, which aligns with the “Lagos State Government’s One Community at a Time (OCAT)” initiative, exemplifies the company’s unwavering dedication to education development in the country.
Essaadi, however, noted that the project, which comprised a block of classrooms, a principal’s office, staff rooms, and toilet facility, holds a special significance as it addresses the challenge of several students in the areas who may have to travel long distances to access education.
He stated: “Also, the project aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 4, which aims at ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all.
“With the completion of this project, we collectively take a significant step forward in our educational journey, offering our children an easily accessible, safe, and conducive environment for learning within their community.”
According to him, the provision of the school infrastructure by the company was geared toward investing in the future of children, communities, and the country as a whole.
“The projects under the Nigerian Breweries-Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund also directly support Nigeria’s national educational objectives, complementing government policies aimed at raising education standards and broadening access across the country,” he added.
