Due to the threat posed by Russia’s war in the region and Europe as a whole, neighbouring countries are beginning to take mitigative measures which include forming a military alliance with big military players or being admitted into a military alliance such as NATO.
Following the development, Sweden among others is one of such countries that feel most threatened by the continued inversion.
This, however, led Sweden and Türkey to convene a high-level powered meeting in Brussels on the possible accession of Sweden to NATO before the alliance’s July summit in Vilnius,

This was disclosed by NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg on Monday, saying, “This meeting will include foreign ministers, heads of intelligence and national security advisers.
The aim is to make progress in completing Sweden’s accession to NATO,” Stoltenberg told reporters during a visit to Vilnius.
