Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has promised his administration will continue to alleviate economic hardship to help residents.
According to him, the beneficiaries of his government’s empowerment programme have increased from its initial 30,000 to 97,365 persons, and now 208, 000 208, 000. He said the poverty reduction support scheme has continued to bring positive change to the lives of the people.
Oborevwori said these at the beginning of the 4th disbursement of the Delta State Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus, christened, D-CARES, an acronym for DeltaCares, in Asaba yesterday.
The governor said the gesture was in furtherance of the desire of his administration to meet the component of the all-inclusive campaign of his M.O.R.E agenda.
According to him, the continuation of the initiative is a testament to his administration’s determination to build a state where every citizen has a sense of belonging.
He said: “This 4th tranche disbursement marked another significant milestone in my administration’s commitment to the economic empowerment and welfare of our people.”
