Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Minister of State for Education Yussuf Sununu are expected at the 2024 Maltina Teacher of the Year award ceremony today.

The yearly competition was instituted in 2015 by the Nigerian BreweriesFelix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund. The top finalists are Aniefiok Iniobong Udoh of Community Secondary Commercial School, Ikot Oku Ikono, Akwa Ibom State; Nwosu Chinenye Augustina of Anthony Obaze Memorial Community Secondary School, Ogbaru LGA, Anambra State; Ojo Olumuyiwa Olumide of Apex Group of School, Ibillo, Akoko-Edo, Edo State; Ojo Olufunke Adewunmi of Praise Worthy Secondary School, Ikota-Ekiti, Ekiti State; Akinyele Samuel of Kingdom Seed International School Lokoja.

Others are Abidoye Aderonke Ibiyemi of Kosofe Senior College, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Lagos State; Esomnofu Chidiebube Ifechukwu of Crown Grace School, Mararaba, Nasarawa State; Kehinde Oladapo Olukayode of Molusi College, Oke Sopen, Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State.
