May 29: Buhari Seeks Approval Of $800m Loan Request From Senate

Barely 19 days to hand over the mantle of leadership to the incoming President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday requested a whooping sum of $800 million loan.

New Telegraph reports that this was contained in a letter sent to the senate for approval for the new loan.

The in letter read during the plenary by the Senate President Ahmad Lawan, President Buhari said the loan would be used to expand the National Social Safety Net Programme (NSSNP) and would be sourced from the World Bank.
