An Area Court in Jos, Plateau State on Monday sentenced a man identified as Jude Danjuma to three months imprisonment for unlawful possession of live cartridges.
New Telegraph reports that Magistrate Shawomi Bokkos sentenced the convict after he pleaded guilty to the offence and begged the court for leniency.
It was also gathered that the magistrate also gave the convict an option of a N10,000 fine.
Earlier, Insp Ibrahim Gokwat, the Police prosecutor told the court that the case was reported by the anti-cult unit of the state police headquarters on April 29.
He said the anti-cult team, while on routine patrol at the West of Mines axis, arrested the accused person in possession of three live cartridges.

It was reported that the prosecutor further told the court that during the police investigation, the accused confessed to having committed the offence.
The offence, he said, contravened the Plateau State Penal Code law of Northern Nigeria.
