Man Bags 3-Month Jail For Swindling POS Operator

26-year-old Mohammed Ibrahim has been sentenced to 3 months imprisonment on Monday by the Area Court in Jos for swindling a Point of Sales (PoS) operator for N28,000.

The judge, Mr Shawomi Bokkos, sentenced the convict after he pleaded guilty to the crime and begged the court for leniency.

While delivering the judgement, the judge gave the convict an option of an N10,000 fine.

He also ordered the convict to pay N35,000 as compensation to the complainant.

Earlier, Inspector Ibrahim Gokwat, the police prosecutor, told the court that the case was reported at the Jos ”C” division police station on May 2 by the POS operator, Mr Shaibu Mohammed.
