The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has officially declared Tuesday, August 20, 2024, as a work-free day to celebrate Isese Day.
The development was announced in a circular issued his Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju on Thursday in Ibadan, the State capital.
The announcement, communicated through a circular issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Olanike Adeyemo, follows Makinde’s previous commitment to observe Isese Day annually on August 20.

The day is dedicated to honoring traditional worship and cultural heritage.
Governor Makinde urged all traditional worshippers and citizens to use the day for prayer and reflection, focusing on the peace, unity, and stability of both Oyo State and Nigeria.
