Belgium’s record goal scorer, Romelu Lukaku is only interested in joining Inter despite interest from Saudi-Arabian side, Al-Hilal.
Barring the last-minute change, the 30-year-old is set to return to Italy but the stumbling block is that Chelsea is willing to sell Lukaku rather than just loan him out to Inter who are keen to see the striker return to Milan next season, are in no position to make an offer and are instead hoping to renew the loan deal.
Clearly, both sides are at an impasse and one needs to move. That Lukaku is only interested in moving to Inter is difficult for Chelsea, as clearly, the Italian side are not going to meet their demands.
Al-Hilal have the finances to complete the signing and maybe even increase Lukaku’s current wage, but without the player willing to go there appears to be a non-starter.
It appears that the Lukaku transfer saga is likely to continue for the majority of the summer.
