Ademola Lookman has rejoined Atalanta’s training sessions and is expected to be available for selection in their upcoming Serie A match against Torino.
The Super Eagles forward missed the season opener after requesting to be excluded from the squad amidst ongoing transfer talks, particularly regarding a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain.
However, the PSG deal fell through, and new reports indicate that Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool have now shown interest in acquiring the 26-year-old.
Atalanta, determined to retain Lookman, who still has two years remaining on his contract, expressed surprise at his transfer request.
The club’s sporting director described the forward’s decision as “unexpected” and suggested that Lookman had been poorly advised during the transfer discussions.
As Lookman returns to full training, Atalanta will be keen to reintegrate him into the squad, hoping he can put the transfer speculation behind him and focus on the season ahead.
