LG Polls: Mutfwang Presents PDP Flags To Six LG Chairmanship Candidates Of Plateau North 

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang on Thursday presented PDP flags to all the Six Local Government Chairmanship Candidates from Plateau North Senatorial District held at the Langfield Event Centre ahead of the October 9 Local Government elections.

While presenting party flags to the candidates, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang energized the massive crowd, assuring them that the PDP would not let Plateau down.

He emphasized that the PDP remains the only political party where the average Plateau citizen can find refuge, calling on the people of Plateau North to demonstrate their strength and commitment by delivering a resounding victory for all PDP candidates in the upcoming elections.

“Plateau North played a pivotal role in our victory at the general elections, and that is why we have already begun delivering development projects in this zone.

“What we’ve done so far is just a preview. We are set to embark on massive development projects that will transform Jos into the most developed city in Northern Nigeria,” the Governor stated.

Governor Mutfwang also appealed for calm among those who contested in the party’s primaries but were unsuccessful, urging them to remain united under the PDP’s umbrella, which he described as broad enough to accommodate everyone. He promised that no one who had laboured for the party would be forgotten.

In her remarks, the Deputy Governor, Ngo Josephine Piyo, affirmed the steadfast support of women for the party, noting that women have consistently provided the highest number of votes in past elections. She added that the flag-off was a gesture of appreciation to the people, stating that the PDP will win the elections convincingly.

The State Party Chairman, Hon. Chris Hassan, expressed gratitude to the people of Plateau North for their steadfast support of the PDP and assured them that their votes in the upcoming elections would surpass those of the 2023 polls.

He also welcomed thousands of defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) into the PDP, assuring them of a level playing field within the party.

Former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Simon Mwadkwon, commended Governor Mutfwang for fostering trust through his administration’s developmental strides and pledged that the party would remain strong and united in Plateau North to support the Governor’s leadership.

PDP Zonal Chairman of the Plateau North Hon. Davou Mang in his welcome remark assured that the Six Local Governments in Plateau North which consists of Barkin Ladi, Riyom, Jos South, Jos North, Bassa and Jos East are the strong of the PDP in the state.

He pledges that Plateau North is the Zone that has Board Member of the PDP Sen. Jonah David Jang and other Key PDP stakeholders, saying PDP will not fail to win all the six LGs in the Zone.

“We want to assure the Governor that Plateau North is the heart of PDP and we don’t know any party, you can see for yourself hundreds of decampees from the Zone which indicate victory already, Plateau North come 9th October will celebrate all the Chairmanship candidates and Councillorship candidates of the party”.

Other key speakers at the event, including the Chairman of the PDP Elders Forum, Hon. Raymond Dabo and Hajiya Jamila Gwandu, praised the loyalty and dedication of Plateau North to the PDP and expressed confidence that the party would secure an overwhelming victory in the forthcoming Local Government elections.

While Speaking after recieving his PDP flag, the Chairmanship Candidate of Jos North Local Government Barr. John Chris described the official presentation of the flags to them by the Governor as the beginning of victory ahead of the LG Elections.

He promised to work hard for the development and progress of the people of Jos North LG.

New Telegraph Report that the venue of the event was a carnival-like atmosphere as supporters of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gather to display loyalty to the Party.
