LG Poll: Tension In Nasarawa APC Over Party’s Flag Bearers

Tension has enveloped the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State following moves by party officials and stakeholders to implement consensus adopted by the party for the November 2 local government poll.

The All Progressive Congress in the state had unanimously adopted consensus for the upcoming local government election scheduled for November 2 during its stakeholders meeting held at the Government House in Lafia on Tuesday.

The party had mandated its leaders and stakeholders to work with its structures at the various local governments and ward levels to come up with suitable candidates for the chairmanship and councillorship positions that would fly its flag in the November 2 local Government election.

Checks by New Telegraph revealed that palpable tension is currently sweeping across local government areas following attempts by both party officials and stakeholders to pacify the multiple contestants to arrive at one single flag bearer for the chairmanship and councillorship positions in the 13 local government Councils and 147 electoral wards in the state.
