The Akwa Ibom State All Progressives Congress (APC) will begin campaigning for the October 5 local government election today at the Ikot Ekpene Stadium.

Party leaders, including Ita Enang, on Tuesday in Uyo yesterday expressed confidence that the APC would be victorious. Enang said: “Akwa Ibom is APC but unfortunately governed by the PDP.”

He added: “We are confident that the President having taken the bold step of ensuring autonomy of local governments and ensuring that government in Nigeria is run at three tiers as ought to be – Federal Government, state government, and local government – and having rescued the states, the local government, from the claws and the kidnap of the states, that we are confident that we are going to contest and we will win the elections in all the 31 LGAs in Akwa Ibom State.”
