LG Election: APC Stakeholders/Leaders Endorse Ogbofia For Onicha Chairmanship Seat

The stakeholders and leaders of Thought in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, have unanimously endorsed Hon. Ikechukwu Ogbofia, to contest the chairmanship seat of the council.

The endorsement of Ogbofia was one of the major highlights during the All Progressive Congress (APC) campaign rally held on Tuesday in Isu, the headquarters of the council.

Addressing the mammoth crowd of party supporters that thronged the venue of the rally, the state Chairman of APC Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, extolled the leadership qualities of Ogbofia both as a former youth leader and Special Assistant to Governor Francis Nwifuru.

He said that the people of Onicha local government area are trusted members of the APC.

‘We are here to celebrate our incoming chairman who has won the election”

In a remark, Governor Francis Nwifuru represented by his deputy Princess Patricia Obila, said that with the massive turnout of supporters, the election was as good as won.

In a speech, the APC chairmanship candidate Ikechukwu Ogbofia, commended the party for the opportunity given to him to fly the party flag.

Ogbofia said that the people of the area have committed themselves to the party.

“This is an opportunity to commend the governor for the achievements recorded since assumption of office”

“Onicha is now APC, all candidates including councillors will win elections before noon on 20th July 2024”

In a goodwill message, the state’s former deputy Governor Chigozie Ogbu, commended the state governor Francis Nwifuru for appointing indigens of the Onicha council in his administration.

Highlights of the occasion were the presentation of the party flag to Hon Ogbofia by Chairman Stanley Emegha.

Others include members of the state executive council, traditional rulers, party faithfuls, youth organizations, and cultural troupes among others.

It would be noted that the state Independent National Electoral Commission (EBSIEC), has scheduled July 20th, as the date for the conduct of the chairmanship and councillorship polls in the state.
