LG Autonomy: S’Court Reserves Judgement In FG’s Suit

The Supreme Court on Thursday, reserved judgment on the suit filed by the Federal Government against the 36 state Governors regarding the autonomy of the 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Nigeria.

New Telegraph recalls that President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government had dragged the state government to court over the autonomy of the third tier of government.

The apex court disclosed that its ruling would be delivered at a future date to be communicated to the stakeholders.
