Lawmaker Salutes Imo Community For Averting Ezeship Crisis

A lawmaker, Eugene Dibiagwu, representing Ohaji-Egbema-Oguta-Oru West federal constituency at the National Assembly has commended the people of Aborshi community in Oguta Council Area of Imo State for carefully de-escalating the Ezeship controversy in their community.

He also advised Niger Delta communities to eschew rancour and bitterness in their communal life. Dibiagwu, who is the chairman, House Committee on Nigeria Delta Affairs, gave the advice while addressing the people of Aborshi Izombe in Oguta Local Government Area of the state yesterday.

He said the peaceful conduct of Nigerians, especially those from the oil bearing communities, is important for the stabilisation of the nation’s security and economy.

The lawmaker said he was happy over the peaceful conduct of the Aborshi Izombe community regarding the move by some individuals to secretly select a new traditional ruler after the death of their former monarch, His Royal Highness, Eze P. O. Muforo and usurp power through the back door.
