Kwara Community Gets CBT Centre With 250 Computers

Gov AbdulRazaq lauded for facilitating the facility

The Kwara State Government has facilitated the establishment of a new Computer Based Training (CBT) Centre in Igbaja, Ifelodun Local Government Area, with 250 units of computers procured for the centre.

The State Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr Mary Ronke Arinde, who led a government delegation, affirmed this development on Thursday in Igbaja, where the official commissioning and handing over ceremony of the centre took place.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner said the establishment of the CBT centre was a testament of the unwavering commitment of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to the education sector in the state.

According to her, the gesture would significantly alleviate the challenges faced by students around Igbaja axis during the JAMB Examination, and also offer them greater access to modern tools essential for their academic success.

The Elese of Igbaja, Oba (Dr.) Ahmed Awuni Babalola Arepo III, applauded the state government for finding Igbaja community worthy of such development,
assuring that the facility would be put to optimal use and under safe watch.

The Royal Father maintained that Governor AbdulRazaq has been magnanimous in his leadership style and prayed God Almighty to continue to strengthen him in his determination to take Kwara State to greater heights.

The representative of Mac Gable Global Services Limited, Mr. Patrick Aibangbee , who described the initiative as highly commendable, disclosed further that the company had supplied 250 units of computers according to specifications as requested by the Governor, pointing out that they are high quality systems for CBT exercise.

In his goodwill message, the Registrar of Buhari College of Health Sciences, Buhari, Mr. Owolabi John, who represented the Chief Executive Director said the College would offer 50 percent scholarship for 50 candidates who are indigenes of Igbaja, and another 25 percent for non-indigenes as part of its efforts to support the take-off of the CBT Centre.

One of the beneficiaries, Oyinloye Ayomide Divine of Baptist Grammar School, Igbaja, thanked the Governor for bringing the CBT Centre to their community, adding that it would ease their transportation cost and also lessen the burden of travelling to Ilorin for the examination.
