Kwankwaso’s Meetings With Tinubu Not Anti-party –Ogun NNPP Chair

The Ogun State New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Chairman Oginni Olaposi has defended the party’s candidate in the February 25 presidential poll Rabiu Kwankwaso for visiting President Bola Tinubu.

Kwankwaso after the election held meetings with Tinubu in Paris and ate at the Presidential Villa last week. Speaking to journalists in Abeokuta on Wednesday, Olaposi condemned those accusing the former Kano governor of engaging in anti-party activities.

“This is not what anyone can call an anti-party activity. After an election, there’s a way all parties come together and make sure there’s a way forward,” he said. Olaposi explained that the NNPP had withdrawn a petition filed against Governor Dapo Abiodun at the tribunal in line with Kwankwaso’s steps after the election.

The chairman, however, claimed that some members of the party’s National Working Committee in connivance with a group in the state had been plotting to appeal the tribunal’s ruling which dismissed the case.
