The Special Adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Abdul Rasheeth, has assured that the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso will be part of the merger to remove the All Progressives Congress (APC) from power in 2027.
Atiku’s aide said Kwankwaso was misquoted in his comment concerning the 2027 election that he would win the 2027 election, on Saturday.
The former governor of Kano State and leader of the NPPP, while he commissioned the NNPP office in Katsina, also stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was dead.
His statement received condemnation from the PDP leadership. The National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Debo Ologunagba, described Kwankwaso as a failed and inconsequential politician.

“Our reaction to the statement credited to Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso is that he is very inconsequential in the Nigerian national politics today judging from the fact that he is struggling to lead a party called NNPP which is also struggling to control only one state,” the statement read in part.
However, Atiku’s Broadcast Media Aide, Rasheeth, stated that Kwankwaso in the interview granted in Hausa did not say he would win the 2027 election.
“It’s important to note that Kwankwaso was clearly misquoted in that video. Nowhere did he mention winning the 2027 Presidential Election. I still believe he is one of the strong politicians who has Nigeria at heart and would be part of any arrangement to end the APC’s bad governance,” Rasheeth wrote on his X handle.
He further called on followers of the Kwankwasiyya leader, to join hands with followers of the 2023 presidential candidate of the PDP to ensure APC is removed in 2027.
“My Kwankwasiyya brothers, let’s unite and fight our common enemy, the APC. 2027 is about Nigeria and making the right decision,” he added.
